How does the “Free Planting with Paid Delivery” offer work?
It is very simple: You pick out a tree(s) and pay our competitive, flatbed delivery fee. Our expert landscape crews will then perform a standard professional tree planting at that specific delivery location for FREE. This ensures proper
hole depth, structural support, and root stimulator for the tree to survive and thrive. Note: Free planting requires clear access for planting equipment to the site.
Can I pick up large trees, or is delivery required?
You are always welcome to pick up any trees at our nursery with your own truck and trailer. We can help you to load them as well. However, large, shade and evergreen trees (often 10-15+ feet tall) weigh hundreds of pounds and have massive rootballs that cannot be hand-carried. Professional transportation and planting by our crews is highly recommended.
Will a tree survive being planted during the hot Idaho summer?
Yes, but success requires aggressive, deep watering support. While the optimal planting windows in Southern Idaho are spring (March-May) and fall (September-November), professional planting can be successful in the summer. Because we utilize Idaho-acclimated trees with established root systems, they are resilient. You must commit to a precise summer watering schedule to ensure the tree establishes successfully.
How often do I need to water a newly planted tree?
Improper watering is one of the main causes of tree death in the Treasure Valley. Deep, infrequent watering is the key, especially in our alkaline Idaho clay soil. A good rule of thumb is a very slow trickle from a hose for 30-60 minutes near the base, allowing water to soak deep to the root system, 2-3 times per week during the heat of the summer.
